FESTIVAL

  •  A: Brenham Maifest is a family-friendly, German-inspired spring festival that celebrates community, tradition, and fun. It features parades, live music, food and drink vendors, a carnival, and cultural activities for all ages.

  • A: Maifest is held annually on the second weekend in May at Fireman’s Park in Brenham, Texas. The festival typically runs Thursday through Saturday, with some events beginning earlier in the week.

  • A: Admission to the festival grounds is free!

  • A: From carnival rides and games to the Kinder Parade and entertainment stages, Maifest offers plenty of family-friendly fun geared toward younger festival-goers.

  • A: Yes, there is parking available near Fireman’s Park. We recommend arriving early for the best spots. Additional parking and shuttle options may be announced closer to the event.

FOOD VENDORS & ENTERTAINMENT

  • A: Food vendor applications typically open several months before the event. You’ll find the form and guidelines on our website on the Festival Page.

  • A: All vendors must meet health and safety regulations, provide proof of insurance, and comply with festival setup/takedown policies. Specific booth size, electricity needs, and menu items will be reviewed as part of the application process.

  • A: Booth fees vary depending on size, location, and electricity needs. Fee details are included in the application packet each year.

  • A: Application deadlines are typically in early spring, and space fills up quickly, so we recommend applying as early as possible.

  • A: We welcome a wide variety of performers—bands, dancers, cultural groups, and more! Entertainer applications are also available on the website. Be sure to include links to past performances or a demo.

PARADE AND CORONATION PARTICIPATION

  • A: Maifest offers several ways to get involved—from volunteering and vendor opportunities to participating in the Junior or Senior Maifest Coronations. Coronation registration opens in the winter and will be listed on the Coronation page. If you’re looking to volunteer, visit our Volunteer page.

  • A: Maifest features one parade in downtown Brenham, which consists of the Junior and Senior participants and other parade entries. (open to businesses, organizations, schools, and more).

  • A: Parade registration forms are available on our website. All parade entries must be approved in advance. Visit the Parade webpage.

  • A: The parade is on the Saturday morning of Maifest weekend, which starts at 10:30 am.

  • A: The parades wind through downtown Brenham, with plenty of great viewing spots along the route, especially near the courthouse square.

DONATIONS

  • A: Donations can be made securely online through our website. You can also sponsor a specific event, float, or activity. Visit our Donate page for more information!

  • A: Donations help cover costs for float upkeep and repairs, festival performers, children's programming, costume scholarships, college scholarships, community and park improvements, and maintaining the Maifest tradition for future generations.
